By Jeff Daws

"The thoughts of all at Scunthorpe United are with his family.”

Scunthorpe United Football Club are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Kevin Austin at the age of 45 following a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Kev was the Youth Development Phase Lead Coach at our Academy, joining in September 2016. Prior to that, he enjoyed a successful playing career, spanning 500 appearances that took him from Saffron Walden Town to Leyton Orient, Lincoln City and Swansea City amongst others.

The Iron’s Academy Manager, Tony Daws, said: “Everybody at the Football Club is devastated by the news about Kevin, who was taken from us far too soon. Kevin was doing excellent work at our Academy and we truly appreciated his efforts during his time with us. The thoughts of all at Scunthorpe United are with his family.”
